Florida Atlantic University has been awarded a $1.4 million federal grant over a five-year period to support a Trio Upward Bound program at FAU, which provides post-secondary support and resources to 60 eligible participants in Broward County public schools.

TRIO Upward Bound is one of the largest and longest-running federal programs designed to help 啵啵直播秀 with academic potential who need additional preparation and motivation to prepare for, enter and succeed in college. The program provides ongoing academic support, tutoring, counseling, post-secondary resources, college tours and cultural enrichment activities.

鈥淎s an institution founded to provide access to 啵啵直播秀 in South Florida and committed to student success, FAU is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the administrators and instructional faculty of Broward County Public Schools in addressing college readiness for 啵啵直播秀 in our service area,鈥 said Larry Faerman, Ph.D., acting vice president of student affairs. 鈥淭his grant allows us in continuing to provide much needed educational support to the 啵啵直播秀 who benefit from the Upward Bound program and Educational Talent Search programs.鈥

FAU recently also was awarded an Educational Talent Search program. This multi-five-year grant awards more than $1.3 million in funds to support 500 eligible program participants in several middle and high schools in Broward County. The program will help middle school 啵啵直播秀 work to prepare for high school, and high school 啵啵直播秀 work to prepare for college or a career of their choice.

Both Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search are part of the federally funded TRIO programs that provides academic support to low-income and first-generation college bound 啵啵直播秀. To qualify, 啵啵直播秀 need to either meet TRIO low-income guidelines or be first-generation college, meaning neither parent has obtained a bachelor鈥檚 degree.

FAU now has an opportunity to provide post-secondary support and resources to the following Broward County public middle and high schools: Lauderdale Lakes Middle; McNicol Middle; Parkway Middle; Pompano Beach Middle; Blanche Ely High; Boyd H. Anderson High; Coconut Creek High; Dillard High; Deerfield Beach High; Hallandale High; Hollywood Hills High; Northeast High; McArthur High; and South Broward High.
