A team of assessors from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) will arrive on April 24 -26, 2022, to examine all aspects of the Florida Atlantic University Police Department's policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services, Chief Sean Brammer announced today.

Verification by the team that the Florida Atlantic University's Police Department meets IACLEA's stateof-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation -a highly prized recognition of campus public safety professional excellence, he said.

University members, agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 561-297- 2156 on April 25th between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team. Telephone comments must address the department's ability to comply with IACLEA's standards. The IACLEA Accreditation Standards Manual is available on the IACLEA website (www.iaclea.org). Anyone wishing to offer written comments about the Florida Atlantic University Police Department's ability to meet the standards of accreditation, may send an email to Jerry Murphy, at jmurphy@iaclea.org.

The Accreditation Manager for the Florida Atlantic University Police Department is Dr. Sheila Walden. The IACLEA assessment team is composed of experienced campus law enforcement professionals from Florida and New Hampshire. The Assessors will review written materials, interview individuals, and inspect facilities where compliance can be witnessed. The Assessors are Peter A. Agnesi, Team Leader, and Allison Jean. Once the Assessors complete their review of the department, they will report back to IACLEA, which will then decide if the department is to be granted re-accredited status.

Accreditation is for four (4) years, during which the department must submit annual reports attesting to continued compliance with those standards under which it was initially accredited. Verification by the team that the Florida Atlantic University Police Department meets the Commission's standards is part of a voluntary process to maintain accreditation.
