The free event sponsored by the will take place from Friday, Nov. 13 to Sunday, Nov. 15, and will feature 68 presentations that cover all aspects of corporate finance and governance, including such topics as COVID-19, the media, gender and politics.
In addition, there will be keynote addresses in a panel format by professors , Ph.D., of the University of South Carolina, , Ph.D., of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and , Ph.D., of the University of Texas at Austin.
“Markets in 2020 have been extremely volatile,” said , Ph.D., an FAU professor and event organizer. “Turbulent markets create increasing scope for corporate governance failures.”
Cumming and fellow organizer and FAU professor , Ph.D., originally expected to host conference attendees from across the globe in Boca Raton. But the ongoing pandemic forced the event to be held online. While there will be no opportunity for in-person networking, a virtual event eliminates the cost and offers flexibility to the attendees, the organizers said.
Following the final session on Sunday, Nov. 15, the will sponsor the best paper and other awards. There also will be an open discussion with editors of publications that publish research on corporate finance and governance.
