FAU Recognized for Innovative Advising 啵啵直播秀
Florida Atlantic University recently was recognized for its efforts to provide academic advising to 啵啵直播秀 in on-campus parking garages. (UAS) received the 鈥淢ost Innovative 啵啵直播秀ming Award鈥 at the (FLACADA) annual conference, hosted by Florida A & M University.
聽鈥淕et Wise: Advising on the Go鈥 was launched in spring 2015 in an effort to target commuter 啵啵直播秀 and working 啵啵直播秀 who take evening classes when FAU offices are closed. About 83 percent of the 21,000 啵啵直播秀 on the Boca Raton campus are commuters. Academic advisers are stationed in Garages 1 and 2 between 5 and 7 p.m. to talk with 啵啵直播秀, answer questions and to partner them with their assigned academic advisors. In fall 2016, advisers spoke with nearly 400 啵啵直播秀 in the parking garages.
鈥淭his program is truly an example of meeting 啵啵直播秀 where they are,鈥 said Angel Nevin, assistant director of UAS. 鈥淏y connecting 啵啵直播秀 to an academic adviser, we are encouraging and fostering student involvement and engagement, which has been shown to increase retention.鈥
