The is the largest U.S. exchange program offering opportunities for à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã and young professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and primary and secondary school teaching worldwide.

The program currently awards approximately 2,000 grants annually in all fields of study and operates in more than 140 countries worldwide. Fulbright U.S. Student alumni populate aÌýrange of professions and include ambassadors, members of Congress, judges, heads of corporations, university presidents, journalists, artists, professors, and teachers.

The primary source of funding for the Fulbright à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã is an annual appropriation by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Participating governments and host institutions, corporations and foundations in foreign countries and in the United States also provide direct and indirect support.

English Teaching Assistant à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã

The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant programs place grantees in schools overseas to supplement local English language instruction and to provide a native speaker presence in the classrooms.Ìý.

Florida Atlantic University has a designated for interested applicants who provides:

  • Outreach and recruiting.
  • Advising on accurate information and guidance. The FPA can help à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã narrow down which program will best fit their interests/skills/experiences.
  • Review of applicants Fulbright Online Application submission.
  • Institutional deadlines and facilitates the Campus Interview process to provided applicants feedback prior to the national deadline. Ìý
  • A campus interview and evaluation from an FAU Campus Committee are also required for applicants applying through FAU. This part of the application process is designed to provide feedback to applicants about their proposal.
  • Management of the Fulbright Online Application System.

Competition Timeline

  • Late March: Application cycle opens each yearÌý
  • Early/Late September: Campus deadline for application submission to FPA for review through Fulbright Online Application System
  • Late September/Early October: On-campus interview
  • Mid October: National application submission deadline
